The International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), welcomes Flora Peyvandi, M.D., Ph.D., as ISTH President for the 2022-2024 term. Peyvandi is a professor of internal medicine at the University of Milan and the Director of the Angelo Bianchi Bonomi, Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center at the Internal Medicine-Hemostasis and Thrombosis Unit of the IRCCS Maggiore Hospital in Milan, Italy.

For the next two years, Peyvandi will fill the role of President-Elect, working closely with incoming ISTH President, Jeffrey Weitz, M.D., to support the ISTH Council and provide direction on the activities for the Society in accordance to the Society’s bylaws. Following her role as President-Elect, Peyvandi will assume the role of ISTH President at the ISTH 2022 Congress in London, England.

“We are proud to announce the appointment of Flora Peyvandi to this pivotal role at the ISTH,” said outgoing ISTH President Jeff Weitz, M.D. “Her long history of outstanding research and leadership in the thrombosis and hemostasis community will propel the Society forward with tremendous momentum.
